I welcome myself ,once again to this liberal writing platform! This time it is about pain, agony and history , yes ! Shcindler's list portrays the most terrible and shameful moment in the history of civilizations.

I am an avid movie buff, I picked up schindler's list because of its amazing realistic story telling nature and of course the genius and dedication of a man called spielberg. Steven Spielberg is well known for his action-flicks, such as Jurassic Park, Jaws, E.T., Indiana Jones, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, this time his work derived from the Schindler's list - book by Thomas keneally.

I have never seen a picture carried out with such emotion before. This movie will go down in history as a classic.

The movie rolls around ,Oskar Schindler (played by Liam Neeson) and his saving of over 1100 Jews from the Nazi concentration camps of World War II. Not like every other hero centric movie ,oskar was a selfish man , The fact that he wasn't a hero and that he had flaws like everyone else, made the movie more believable and heart-wrenching. Being a Nazi he liked women, Wine , and money. Movie opens with a small color scene and then it moves into black and white. This adds a sense of reality to the film.We also get a look into other lives of World War II, such as Amon Goeth (played by Ralph Fiennes) and Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley). You will find Kingsley who played Ganhdi in the Film ''Gandhi'', act like a low life humble jew.He is indeed the best.Goeth(Ralph) is a mean and hypocritical villian (an SS officer)In a schocking scene, he goes out on a balcony and shoots people at random as if shooting turkeys. His lover/slave, Helen Hirsch (Embeth Davidtz), watches in disgust.Goeth is exceptionally evil, but in a scene he tries to be compassionate when he lets a kid go for not being able to clean a bathtub, Ten seconds later, he shoots and kills the kid.

As one moves further towards the cleaning up of the Ghetto, and mass suicides of patients,Oskar's changing heart and his unspeakable attempts to save a thousand jews leaves you awe struck .One starts wondering about ''how can someone do this to a human race''.The film makes you feel a pain as if you are the part of that suffering. And the preparation of the list of people to be saved (bought by oskar from goeth)- this scene tells you about what would have been the weight and price of a single life for that man.The gore is plenty but also necessary to make that impact. I bet you cannot move in between the movie, it makes you stick to your seat.

For a person who doesn't know exactly what happened during the holocaust , this movie is a shake, and will haunt him with questions and scenes after while.

And finally, after so much sufferings, killing, and hatred the last scene when Oskar spends all his money to save the jews and he is about to escape from the red army, parting a tearful goodbye, he is left with a gold broach and a car!, suddenly breaks into tears realizing that he could have saved one more life by selling his leftovers. Believe me, here I felt a little heaviness.

All I can say that this completely shook me up to the extent that I even started reading more about the holocaust and its history.

highly recommended to an age group of above 16.. and people who like war movies.
