My wife & my sister were returning with two small kids each from Delhi to Bangalore via jet airways flight 9W 7075(23 May), and I thought of booking a mid-size cab(booking id S0514-129589) for them. Flight's scheduled arrival time in Bangalore was 7:30 pm so I booked the cab for 8:00 pm pickup. Jet made passengers sit in aircraft with 15 mins delay but then it did not get runway for long time and finally the flight landed in Bangalore @ 8:30 pm after one hour delay.
My wife and I both called the driver (Santosh 9535757771, vehicle number KA41A6788) around 8:35 pm to wait same time, and informed him that she will out of terminal in next 10 mins, and driver said ok, he will wait. When she came out of terminal at 8:45 pm, driver tells her that he has already left after picking up some other passenger as per instructions from office, why?
My wife makes frantic calls to me, she is already an hour late & it is approx 8:50 pm, and now the cab is also gone. I call up office number, and nobody picks up the call for over 2 minutes multiple times. It is already 8:55 pm, and my wife calls again.
Fortunately, somebody picks up the call now, and I conference her with office guys. I ask simple question, why did driver pick up somebody else after she confirmed that she will be out in 5-10 mins, and these guys say that we shall call you back. I told him that she can not wait for long, she is without any male companion, and waiting out so late is out of question, if no cab can be arranged in next 5 mins, she would hail regular cab from airport & leave. But office say, just wait 2 mins.
It is now 9:00 pm, and no call from Savaari.com, I call them up again, and now they say that she will have to wait another 40 mins as there is no other replacement cab available. Now I lose cool & ask how can you strand the female passenger late in the night after confirmation & accepting full payment in advance. These guys say that we have already taken the complaint, but now we can not do any thing, at best we shall refund you - expect a call tomorrow morning! :-(
I just want stern action against the person who instructed the driver to leave the female passengers behind in night around 8:45 pm, and pick up somebody else. Why could savaari.com do it, because they had received whole payment in advance online. Bottomline, do not trust savaari.com for bookings, and never pay them in advance.
Update on 24 May: I did receive a call back from Savaari.com, the person on the line was gentle, tendered genuine apology & assured me that such things will not happen in future. He also assured me that refund for the booking will be credited in next week or so. I am inclined to give savaari.com one more chance.
