When was the last time India came back undefeated after the test series in Australia?
Under whose leadership did India beat Australia and deny the much elusive victory in the now famous Indo Aus test series in 2001?
When was the last time India came back from a tour of Pakistan winning both the one dayers and the test series comprehensively?
Whose is the most successful captain of India in test matches?
Who is the last Indian test cricketer to score two sweetly timed centuries in his first two matches in test cricket?
How many players have given the famed Aussie attack a mouthful and take them on in their own den?
How many captains throw their shirts off in the Lords’ players’ balcony after a famous win?
To these numerous questions, there is only answer- Mr. Sourav Ganguly. Love him hate him but you cannot ignore him for sure!
Just read this – When Mr. Kiran More was asked whether he would want to bring in Sourav for the 4th , 5th one dayers between India and Sri Lanka last month , his reply was “why to change a winning combination?”. The very same More dropped Ganguly yesterday when the team for the 3rd test was announced. And one bum was telling that one should not change a winning combination. This is just heights of hypocrisy and has defied logic!!
One this occasion, I would like a small letter to Mr. Sourav Ganguly on behalf of the entire MS ians to show our solidarity towards him.
Dear Mr. Sourav Ganguly,
There are times when the going gets tough and the tough undoubtedly gets going. It goes without saying that you have given us some memorable victories and not to forget those losses in finals of countless one day tournaments.
Not long ago, Mr. Rahul Dravid had mentioned “on the off side, after God it is Sourav”. Well, that defines it all. How can I forget those classy cover drives and straight hits to the stands stepping out to the spinners? I do understand that your batting and your fielding has not been in the prime as it should be, but lets not take away from you when you played or rather applied yourself more during your stay at the crease in the just concluded test match at New Delhi. Players such as Sehwag. Yuvraj, Kaif have been products who came to this Indian outfit under your regime.
Like the countless Indians who are saddened by your omission from the forthcoming test, am too joining their gang but am sure that you would come back with a bang as I know for sure that you are not going to give up so easily! Are you?
