Ganguly has offlate become the fav topic of discussion in India. The latest whipping boy of Indian Cricket. His atrocious form with bat doesnt help either. But to say he is not a good captain is criminal. He is the best captain India has ever had. He is aggressive. Captains should be agrressive. Do u remember indian captain who was this aggressive? NO! He fights for his players. Do u remember a captain who did that? No ...Not even Sachin could argue with the selectors inspite of knowing his God like Status in India & thats why Sachin is not a good captain. He is too nice a guy for the captainship.
For too long we have been abused & slegded by other teams all over the world. All these years watching cricket was so painful watching indian batsmen getting stares & words & they took it all without even the slightest resistance in the name of ''it will break my concentration''. Its bullsh1t. I think its high time we also give back what we get & ganguly has shown others the way. Inspite of his bad form he doesnt take sh1t from no one. He beat the australians at their own game. They were taken by surprise by the indian teams attitude this time & that was also one of the reasons for our historic test series win. Sourav's been super emotional & superpassionate. And dont u think anyone representing India should be?. And thats what makes him a SUPERCAPTAIN. This is the time to shield him. Give him space. Form is temporary & i'm sure he will be back among runs. If not now then by the time sachin returns i'm sure he will be back at his best when they both r batting together. Yeah Sachin is so great he can get out of form batsmen into form. Just watch out.
Ask the indian player about ganguly & they will tell u how much they love their captain. And they r the people who matter . Not U , not me or anyone else. Dont forget Harbachan is in the team thanks to ganguly. The selecters never wanted him . Ganguly fought for him before the australian series. And the results r there for us to see. Do u think this would have happened if Sachin would have been the captain?. Remember Ranatunga? He was quite similar to what ganguly is. He fought a lot with umpires for his players. & the players gave their best for him.thats why Srilankan cricket has changed so much within a couple of years.
Now his onfield behaviour. They say he is arrogant & screams at his players. So what? ask the players if they mind it? Inspite of his arrogance the whole indian team is behind him & that speaks volumes about his supercaptaincy. HE will make mistakes & learn from them. We need to give the Maharaja time to settle down in his job. Besides the current team is without sachin,laxman,kumble & nehra - 4 must players in the playing 11. His relationship with Sachin & Dravid is also excellent . They r the best of friends . And I haven't seen the top senior players being so supportive of each other in indian team ever. There r no ego hassles between them. They compliment each other best, understand each other best.
Indian cricket needs Ganguly . And indians should support him in his bad times. I know he is in a terrible form butby putting more pressure on him we r not helping him. Afterall we all know whatta class player he is.
