Is ganguly an asset or liability for india?!. Review on Saurav Ganguly

one more addition to the never ending list of controversies between saurav and the indian team management just makes this issue more debatable. India's arrival in Bulawayo less than 24 hours before the game against the new-zealand match made fleming describe as ''surprising''. Well when ganguly was asked to comment about the same he blames the management for it as they were provided with the pre-scheduled itinerary which they had to follow rituosly. On the other hand the indian team management says that it is unhappy with the few indian players. Well it isn't very tough to say who the players the board was referring to!. yesterday in an interview with harsha, ganguly shares his heart that he was asked to step down as a captain before the first test against zimbabwe in bulawayo. These statements of ganguly after scoring a century against zimbabwe shows how much pressure he was being subjected to, regarding captaincy, particularly since dravid seems very much ready to don the new role. Well media sources portray this as a tussle between dravid & co. Vs Ganguly & co. Well everyone knows yuvaraj is seen as dada's favourite and rahul's as kaif. Also heated arguments might have taken place between the team management, captain, vice-captain, senior members on the eve of first test match at bulawayo, before the inclusion of yuvaraj over kaif as kaif peformed particularly well in his previous test. Also recent outburst from composed laxman about his non inclusion of him in the recently concluded one-dayers and his claim that there are serious differences which needs be sorted out makes the indian team more vulnerable.

well are all these infights in the indian team with the team management are due to the over-assertive nature of our own dada or he being made a scapegoat for his aggressive nature. the core issue here being the non performance of the bengal tiger.His century at bulawayo might have given him slight relief, but he made it in the absence of likes of shane bond, chris-crains. Ganguly needs to prove himself before he makes any statement against the coach or team management against strong sides like australia, england. Also as the team india looks for the 2007 world cup, youngsters need be promoted rather than relying on the old bengal tiger!!
