Power man. Review on Saurav Ganguly

Saurav Ganguly is a fighter. After being left out of the game for 4 years, he reentered with a ''bang and a six''. The bang was his century at Lords', the six came years later when he was appointed captain of the Indian cricket team, a crushing responsibility even Sachin, the God of Gods, wasn't able to carry.

Over the years as captain, the Prince has, with the help a very practical coach, put together a team that has the raw talent and motivation to become the top team in the world. Meanwhile, Saurav has been criticized for his selfishness, his poor batting form, and what not. But the truth is, his aggression, both in captaincy and batting, has turned the team around. Thanks to him, Indian bowlers can now look at the taunting and provoking opposition's batsmen straight in the eye and even mumble a few controversial words. He has stuck by his players, and overall, they have not let him down. Sure, he has his favorites, but can one really complain after each of his prodigies has single-handedly won us atleast one game?

His batting has been a great source of criticism by his loyal haters, but the fact is that even if he doesn't have the ability to score every time, he has put together a team that can. His own batting ability is, indeed, questionable, but the true lover of the game cannot argue that when the Royal Bengal Tiger is on fire, he roars. Those off-side drives and clear hits over the fence cannot be erased from any fan's memory, however short this fan's memory might be. Indian cricket has set new standards for the world to follow.

Saurav Ganguly was a miracle waiting to happen. It just did.
