I was due to board a Saudi air flt from Amman to Jeddah enroute BLR on may 20 2016( friday). When I arrived at airport I was told the flight already left at 4 pm my ticket was for subsequent flt at 9pm. after 2 hours of phone calls and pleading, I was told I could board the 9 pm flt.
But ticket machine was not working. one passenger came soon after and said something in arabic, and they produced a boarding pass from somewhere and gave him(obviously mine with name changed). 5 minutes before 9 pm I was told permission was given for me to board, but plane already left terminal.
Now what to do? I had to cool my heels in Amman for two days because they have holiday Fri-Sat. By grace of Allah I got a ticket for 22 May and got on the plane. In Jeddah my bag was offloaded because the baggage was booked only upto Jeddah. I did not have a visa and had to go to the next terminal to catch the outbound connecting flt. after waiting in a cabin for 2 hours I was told to go thru a door with a separate xray scanner and found it connected to the departure terminal without having to go thru Immigration.
I was escorted by two officials and told to wait. An empty bus came after 20 mts . and took me to the next terminal, There the bus waited as some VIP had come in a convoy and was getting into the terminal. After they finished their getting in I was told to go in. The plane was full of people returning from Umrah returning to BLR.
On landing at BLR I waited two hrs searching for my luggage amidst ZamZam water cartons. After a long wait I made a missing luggage complaint.
There was a response after one week from Saudi Air telling me the luggage was at Jeddah, and why I did not collect it?
HA HA. ! This is a well thought out scam to catch unsuspecting travelers to pay up in hotel or bribes or whatnot. I am still awaiting compensation from them.
