Satvaa, formerly Aangan restaurant in Hotel Shubhangan on Khar Danda Rd is a great place for a delicious vegetarian meal.
This is not a budget restaurant, but having said that it is really good value for money in its class. The food, predominantly Mughalai, North Indian and Chinese is always tasty and innovative. Service is superlative, there will rarely be a moment that you will have to reach for a dish to serve your self as the ever present staff are always attentive and instantly there to serve you. At the same time, they are never obtrusive.
If going in a large group, it pays to book in advance as there are not that many tables so if you reach late you may have to wait.
Full bar service is available for those who want it.
We recently celebrated a birthday there and the cost of a really sumptuous multi course meal for 11 people with 5 drinkers [beer] came to about Rs 550 per head.
The only complaint I have is that inspite of making a reservation, they only put the table for 11 together after I reached. It ought to have been kept ready as a matter of course. But the meal and the service more than made up for it.
