Sarkar - not the best. Review on Sarkar

RGV, the man behind underworld gritty sagas like satya and company , has always worked with rank newcomers. He has the tag of the STARMaker. For a change, he chose to work with the biggest star of the country for his latest offering. The industry was waiting to see if Ramu could bring a freshness to Amitabh's repertoire.He not only managed that, but was able to tap the acting reservoir of Abhishek , that was waiting to erupt.

'SARKAR', Amitabh Bachhcan , is a no nonsense Robinhood, a replica of Don Corleone of the Godfather and not so far, reminiscent to Mr Bal Thakerey of Mumbai.He runs a parallel government in mumbai and any man with a grudge against the society can com up to him with his problem , Sarkar will heal it. His family consists of sons KK and Abhishek and a host of womenfolk. KK,a bollywood producer ,while Abhishek, returned from the States,dunno what he did there apart from romancing a beautiful Katrina. The dealings of the sarkar..are revealed with consumate ease and so is the personal problems with son KK.

You come acros a plethora of shady men in the household- A tamil giant, dubai drugdealer, politians ,CM everyone has a visit.

The trouble starts when the Dubai honcho offers sarkar a deal in drug trafikking which the sarkar refuses. Th gangster forms a group to elimate sarkar. This forms the crux of the story. Sarkar is wrongly implicated in a case and arrested. This brings the soft spoken Abhishek to the hot seat, as he has to fight for his dad.

The movie is fast paced, charchters running in and out....and RGV manages to get a logical conclusion from the wafer thin plot. Howver, the 2nd half leaves a lot to be desired. The movie digresses in its attempt to form a war between the villian trio and the sarkar clan. Also the characterisation of the film is very amateur. It does not do justice to the efforts put in by Abhishek and Amitabh.

Of the star cast, Katrina comes as a breath of fresh air, KK is dependable, Supriya Pathak doesnt have much to do.

Abhishek holds his own in front of the Bachhan sr. He is the star of tommorw if he does films of this nature.He has a serious image, a la Ajay devgan and should stick to that. Amitabh, he has 2 gems this year, Black and Sarkar..

Although RGV I feel could hve utilized the 2 actors esp Big B better.
