A nice family comedy - is what I can say about this delightful serial. This is not one from the run of the mill, with double meaning dialogues to induce comedy, or futile endeavor to make others laugh using cheap actions. No artificial laughter in the backdrop, no idiosyncrasy, and not irritating.
This serial revolves around a family, the situations they face because of various reasons. Be it the light hearted, afraid-of-wife head of the family, his high society wife, their obedient sons or the stupid daughter-in-law, everyone has a style of their own with which they fascinate the viewers every time.
The head of the family is ?Indravadan Sarabhai?, played by Satish Shah. He likes to enjoy each moment of his life, which Shah plays to perfection. His wife ?Maya? performed by Ratna Pathak Shah dominates him. Her expressions, while watching her husband trying desperately to fool her, or when her daughter-in-law blunders, are a perfect piece of her performance. Then there is ?Sahil?, their son and a perfect husband, who loves his wife ?Monisha?. ?Monisha? comes from a middle class, is quite forgetful, and careless. Tries to keep everyone happy and is in sync with her father-in-law. ?Maya? pities her for not being from the high society and starts off with her shortcomings whenever she gets a chance. Then there is ?Rochez?, the younger son, momma?s boy and an aspiring actor.
These characters build the web of amusement and entertainment, which is worth watching, not only for their performances by the superb cast, but also for an original punch every week. Their act of comedy is a class apart, and the timings are perfect, leaving a person to wait for their next episode.
Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai airs on ?Star One? every Monday at 9?pm and repeats a few times over the weekend. So if u miss it once, just don?t miss it the second or the third time.
