Its not cheap nor predictble, very different from the stereotypicl genre in india. I hav watched every episode at least 2-3 times , some even 10 times. I feel its collector's item. satish shah is known to be good but ratna pathak and rajesh kumar(roshesh) rock. all the characters have a balance in roles and appearance so it doesnt get too much of someone .
the plot keeps on changing every time ,. the better past is that the theme of the serial is such that it comes out from day to day life. there is nothing too unrealistic in this show. maya's comment when she sneers at her daughter in law (monisha) is amazing. I wonder how can these guys b so crative and get all these dialogues.... I have hardly seen any similar mockery being pulled in the serial. and ya... roshesh rocks. he is just too good. but though brief , satish shah in his role levaes a big impact. I think he is much much better on tv then movies. all in all... its the 'sholay' of comedy....
