It is a good BP monitor for home purpose. It provides approximate readings as per oscillometric method. Since many oscillometric devices have not been validated, caution must be given as most are not suitable in clinical and acute care settings but is good for home purpose.
I had previously purchased Rossmax's wrist BP monitor for my family. It was easy to use and accurate.
Later I read somewhere that upper-arm BP monitors are less susceptible to manual errors (keeping the hand at heart level). So, while buying one for my father, I picked the Omron HEM7120 upper arm monitor.
Pros:
-You dont have to worry if the cuff is tied at heart level. Hence more accurate.
-It's listed in the dabl Education Trust website in the recommended devices list.
-Can be used with electricity too. Of Course, the adapter has to be purchased separately.
-Prompts for irregular heartbeat and too-high, too-low bp readings
Cons:
-the cuff gets very very tight after air is filled in it. Feels like the device is gonna crush your arm...maybe bcz its new....but nothing happens...the reading and the arm both remain good.
