I have never seen an institute so unprofessionally run ever in my life and I wish I could take back the useless hours I spent there waiting. Let me start right from the beginning: My one-year-old baby had some eye problem, and being in the area and going by the looks of the hospital, we decided to go there. We called to take an appointment and the person who picked gave us one, now that was smooth. When we reached the hospital at that time we were told that the doctor is not there yet and we have to wait for 2.5 hours. We thought that the doctor might be busy and so we took another appointment for the same day and went back to the hospital right on time. Two other people were also there to see the pediatric ophthalmologist with their little ones. We were told to wait again. This time we waited for more than an hour, without any sign of the doctor – whenever we asked, the nurses just asked us to wait. When we lost our cool and told the head counselor that we are going back, they somehow managed to get the doctor and he saw us. He told us that a minor surgical procedure has to be done for my baby.

Our second visit: We decided to go for the procedure and went there again to get the info to know more about it and how to register. We waited for 2 hours to see the pediatric ophthalmologist, then he referred us to another doctor who was supposed to do the surgery (another 1.5 hours down the drain), and then the counselor was supposed to tell us what to do (that took another 1 hour) – I am not kidding, it took us 5 hours to get out of the hospital – imagine all that with a small baby. Anyways, the date of the procedure was scheduled.

The third visit: I was supposed to get the blood test of the baby done one day before the surgery and meet the anesthesiologist too. I reached the hospital right on time but the nurse asked me if I could wait for one hour as the technician, who was supposed to do the test, was not there. This time I lost my cool and asked them to refund my money as I didn’t want to proceed any further with them, then suddenly the technician appeared from somewhere and took the blood sample. Then I had to meet the anesthesiologist and another hour went by. My baby went through trauma because of all the long hospital visits. So finally, the procedure was scheduled for the next day and we were supposed to starve the baby 12 midnight onwards so that they can do the operation at 7:30 in the morning.

The last and final visit: We packed our bags and looked forward to a long day at the hospital. Going by the hospital’s record of lateness, we decided to reach a little late ourselves, so we were there at 8:00 am. We were amazed to find the hospital lobbies deserted. The nurse on the first floor told us that the doctor will come at 9:00 am so we have to wait for one hour. This time we were totally pissed off and vented out our anger on her. She tried to console us by telling that they called us early as they have to do some preliminary tests with the baby. When we asked what tests, they said that they have to measure the temperature! They made us feel like big fools and this time we were in no mood to tolerate any more of their nonsense, so we just left. My baby was hungry since night.

At 9:30 am somebody from the hospital called and told us that the doctor has arrived and we can come but thankfully we never went.
