Have always heard about the national park, but never visited the same.

Visited the same with a family on 8th August. We started the day at 8am and reached the park at around 8: 45am.

The first thing we visited was the tigers safari as the lion safari was under renovation. Pls don't confuse or compare it with safaris in any national park. In this basically they take you into an enclosed area where the tigers are kept in the cages which they open when a bus comes.

Luckily for us one of the tigers came out of the cage and was only 20 metres away. Then we took a ride in the vanrani a small toy train which gives a 20-25 min ride through the forest area.

These things kids will like. The elders will not like. But if you are a family with kids you will surely enjoy it.

The next stop for us was the Kanheri caves. The view once you go up is breathtaking. And it feels why do we need to spend and go for one day picnics to lonavala as this place is so beautiful.

There was a small waterfall at he Kanheri caves. Also while returning somebody told us about a waterfall 200 metres ahead of the place where the bus starts for the tiger safari. It was secluded with not many knowing about the same.

With these things it was already 3 and with kids with us it was time to return back. We missed the lake. But may be this will be one of the reasons to come back.

Also for all you cyclist enthusiast, you get cycles for rent at the entrance. Else for Kanheri caves you can take a bus. Bus service is provided by best of course at a price.

Also please carry water and food as there are no sellers for the same.

My last advice if you are from Mumbai and never visited the place or visiting Mumbai during monsoons please do visit.
