If you have enough of Bombay's noisy streets, try the Sajay Gandhi National Park which is at Borivali (train station). You can watch many animals and see a huge number of nice plants. The Khaneri caves are also in that park and they are worth seeing.

Only problem is that many Mumbaikars don't understand the real value of the park as they throw their waste everywhere. Also due to the lack of space in Bombay, many homeless people have started to live in the park so the government tries its best to get them out of the park. But the park is also the home of a few tribal people.

You can go to Borivli for a picnic or you can even go on a safari tour. Also for kids the park is really interesting as there are a number of places that explain the life of some animals.

It is worth going a bit deeper into the park and get away from the mass of visitors to really enjoy the beauty of nature.

Borivli park can be reached by train which is easiest as it takes ages by taxi, rikshaw or bus if you live in Andheri or downtown.
