The man, The stature, The acting....The Legend..!

This is how I would describe SANJAY DUTT.. He has been my favorite actor since my childhood [I was a fan of his physique rather then acting...He has one of the most ionic personality in Bollywood]

But now when I look back I think there is more to just a mere personality infact a lot more..

[Career analysis]

When Sanju stared his career he was an amateur..or in simple words he was bad actor. From 1981 to to 1985 all his movie were pathetic except ROCKY [1981] and VIDHAATA [1982]..

Then came along a movie called NAAM [1986] directed by Mahesh Bhatt which is known as Sanju's first come back. He completely surprised one and all in NAAM. He was excellent throughout but in the climax he was out of the world. After NAAM, his career seemed stable. He did another movie with Mahesh Bhatt named KABZAA [1988] though the movie failed at the box office but it was a killer in terms of quality. Sanjay was smashing and gave a great performance. Movies like GHAYAL & GHULAAM are ripoffs of KABZAA but in terms of quality KABZAA still remains a better product. If the failure of a damn good movie like KABZAA wasn't enough..there came HATHYAR [1989]. Directed by J.P. Dutta HATHYAR is one of the first and best gangster films made in India. Sanjay again proved what he can if given a proper role. His scene in climax was jaw dropping. Indeed one of the most underrated films ever made.

So the 80s are over and 90s begin with a bang for Sanjay. He gives two back to back super hits in SADAK [1991] and SAAJAN [1991] and becomes one of the most bankable stars. With SAAJAN he sheds his "action star" image dons a romantic image. He act of silent lover was loved by one and all. At this stage he is at the peek of his career, KHALNAYAK [1993] further proves the point.

--------------Jail Period--------------

After delivering flops after flops Sanjay comes back with a bang. VAASTAV [1999] known as his second come back can arguably be called his best performance and one of the best male performances in Bollywood. VAASTAV gets Sanju is first BEST ACTOR award.

2000's starts on a good note as MISSION KASHMIR [2000] releases. This movie further proves Sanjay's versatility. He plays the role of a father but there is more to it as he role has action, romance and emotion and Sanju enacts it with utmost ease. From quite a few time some critics kept complaining that Sanjay Dutt can't do comedy (even though he had done it many times). But then every mouth was shout after a movie which changed the course of Hindi cinema. MUNNABHAI M.B.B.S [2003] is a third come back of Sanju and is one of best comedies every made in India. Sanju plays a lovable bhai perfectly and gets an award for BEST COMIC ACTOR. Sanju further proved his actings skills in the recent ZINDA [2006] where he gives yet another excellent performance.

Other Notable Work :THAANEDAR, AATISH, DAUD, KHOOBSURAT, HASEENA MAAN JAYEGI, PITAAH, JODI NO. 1, KAANTE, SHABD, PARINEETA

The man is versatile with a capital V and his work proves it. Hats off to one of the Greatest actors of Hindi Cinema.
