Me and my husband had recently visited the domestic airport in chennai. While we were waiting for the flight to arrive, we went to Sangeetha's in the Airport to have a cup of tea. Only Coffee/Tea drinkers are made to pay the cash and get the beverage behind the cashier's area and this does not allow entry to the restuarant itself. Anyway, leaving that aside... We had asked for 2 cups of half-sugared tea.
Cashier took the cash and asked us to tell the preferences to the tea maker behind him. We did the same, The tea maker ( a lady) asked us few times whether both the cups need to have half sugar or one only and so on, we patiently explained to her and she understood our sinmple preference after a long time. After we were handed over the cups, when we tasted it was extremely sweet, when asked the tea maker, she said the decoction is all mixed no alteration can be done.
This should have been informed at the first position by the cashier that there is no such choice, next atleast the tea maker should have when we announced our preference. They kept mum and later to get a sugarcane juice kinda tea, we had to pay 20 bucks. Further more, I felt irritated as the tea was very very light and asked for more decoction to be poured in, she poured the one which was chill, which made my entire to become luke warm. This is the service they give.
First of all, I have not seen tea made in this way with decoction made separately only coffee is made like that. Since it spoils the taste of tea. Go to Saravana Bhavan in Chennai central, extremely crowded than this one, but 5 to 6 tea orders he keeps making afresh which retains the taste of the tea. I really felt very bad about this Sangeetha in Airport. Hope the authorities read and make changes or ruin themselves. Already they are well known for making dishes extremely oily to ensure that we directly get admitted to ICU after consuming the same due to heart attack. Anyway, guys my advice try and avoid this joint atleast for coffee/tea.
