Sandisk Sansa Clip 2Gb Review.You would choose Sansa Clip if you:Think small is beautiful and
Wanted something other than an IPod which everyone seems to carry around. Sansa clip is the most popular budget player owned and talked about on all forums with no or least reported problems.
The slickest looking player. Get a color one if you can get. Great to use (but inexpensive) at gym or for travel.
More and useful functions: Mp3, FM & recording, Voice recording. 3b. Don't want video. If you want video go for an expensive player.
Looks attractive when all light up.
Great audio and FM reception.
Simple to clip to your top or wear it around your neck.
Plan to spend less than Rs. 2000. ($40)
Listen to single large file audio books.
Very light but tough built. Even the earphone is able to take the weight of the player.
Only the 2Gb Black clip is presently available in India (Dec 2008). Capacity: 2GB (500 mp3's, playable for approximately 60 hours)
-Battery Life: 10 + Hours (Sound, display, brightness, volume set to full)
-Display: 1 Inch 2 colour (yellow, blue) 4 lines (See pic). Screen is washed out in direct sunlight (like any other electronic screen, but easly read when shaded with hand)
-Attracrive blue light around wheel (wheel clicks in 4 directions and center) in all models.
-Estimated life of screen: 5000 hours.
-Full charge time: 4 hrs. 80% charge in 2.5 hours. Use the back USB ports for faster charging, You could buy a wall plug adapter USB adapter too.
-Sound volume is exceptionally high even in traffic.
-FM Channel Range: 87.5 108
-Earplugs supplied are ok but if you are a connoisseur you could buy Creative 630 for about Rs.500.
-FM Reception even inside the house is absolutely clear. Use a power adapter, connect it to your PC speakers and enjoy radio on your PC.(Sansa will not work when taking power from USB port)
-FM Channels I'm able to hear in Chennai: 91.1, 91.9, 92.7, 93.5, 98.3, 101.4, 102.3, 106.4.
-File Transfer: Direct copy to Music folder of Sansa or Sync through Windows MP 11.
-File Playback through ID3 Tag. You can also create and play a favourites list using the Sansa, called GO List.
-Sleep Timer: Adjustable from 10 120 minutes. Available in Chennai with Bill and 1 Year Sandisk (Rashi Peri) Warranty: Rs. 1850. (US $ 37).
-Online Rs. 2100 2400. M.R.P. on pack: Rs. 2490. So bargain heavily.
CONS.
- Only 2 Gb & no expansion slot. More would have been great butmore the stuff on your player the more time it takes to go throughmaking things slow down. At 2 Gb you are carrying 60 + hours of musicplus you have FM as it is.
It is easier to carry additional music on your flash drive to top up (using a pc, laptop or internet cafe) than to use micro SD cards. Sandisk new Sansa Express 2Gb + 2Gb expansion slot model, has 40% defective rate.
Headphone jack. Located at an odd angle, inreasing the overall width (See pics).
Coloured models are not available at present.
Surface is reflective (notice the camera in the pics) like and needs to be covered either with plastic film or silicone case.
Needs a cable to attach to USB port for charging and file transfer.(But that is what which keeps it small and attractive). Also players using direct port access are reported to have major problems.

After attaching your Sansa to your PC goto (you cannot use the unit while it is charging, but it can be accessed from My Computer and you can transfer files to it): https://sansa.com/download Download the sansa firm updater and it will install the latest firmware (drivers) for your Sansa.
