Sanam Teri Kasam has released and yet another Pakistani entrant has managed to make a mark in the world of Bollywood. Mawra Hocane, who is a known name in films and television circuit of Pakistan, has made her Hindi film debut with this Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru directed romantic musical.
The film manages to strike a tick against quite a few classic love story elements which time and again manage to entice a viewer. Here too, despite a lengthy narrative, the romance between Mawra Hocane and her equally impressive leading hero Harshvardhan Rane has been noticed for its subtlety and simplicity.
What enticed me most about Sanam Teri Kasam was the fact that it is a classic love story; the kind which doesn't exist in love any more. While doing the film, I felt like someone from the past who got to indulge in the kind of romance which is not from today's time. Sanam Teri Kasam is not a story about dating or boyfriend-girlfriend business. It has far too much depth, says Mawra.
Opening up further about the film as well as her personal life, Mawra says, The story is about compassion and selflessness. I have not experienced such kind of love in real life as well. So, in order to have that in front of the camera was an opportunity. Radhika and Vinay always have a classic Disney like love story in their mind. They understand these kinds of classic themes. This really attracted me.
Smiling away, she adds, I hope to find something similar in real life as well. A Disney story is always special. To be able to project something like this that I believe in is wonderful. Perhaps those who are in their 20s and are watching the film would relate to it so much and also learn in the process.
