This review is for my Samsung 32" LED TV UA32D5000PRXXT which is the same product as UA32D5000PRMXL with the only difference that the former is purchased from Malaysia and the latter is the product available in the Indian market.
I am facing a technical issue with this TV which is normal for an electronic item and is also repairable, but what I came to know today was shocking and disappointing as well.
The Service Center call me and told me that the service charges for this TV will be INR 5000 + 12.5% Tax only because this TV is purchased from Malaysia. If the TV would have been purchased from India, the service charges are INR 600 + 12.5% tax. The product is the same and I dont think any special part is being used in Malaysia to manufacture this product. In fact, most of the products sold in India are also manufactured in China or Malaysia.
The service center couldn't provide a valid justification when I asked what extra value add will they provide against a service charge of INR 5000. Just to visit the house and to open few screws to check the problem, does charging INR 5000 makes sense? A difference of 10% of charges is still understandable, but the difference of INR 5000 and INR 600 is humorous and completely unjustifiable. This is simply a loot and a way of refusing service their defects in the products. I am highly disappointed with Samsung with this attitude.
I have no issues with the product otherwise. But all products gain goodwill keeping in mind how the after sales services are.
