Samsung Star 3G or S 5603 is really a star. The phone wins on many counts and fails on a few. Overall, for the price, looks and ease of use, I really recommend it.
It has all essential features, big bright display, relative faster response OS and the touch is working well so far. It has a 3.2MP cam with flash which delivers real nice photos. It has a front camera to even initiate a video conferencing facility if you 3G that is. What I really enjoy is the gesture control and widgets that makes life really simple.
I also like the New PC Studio software that comes with the phone- its cool. What I did not like is that it does not have a standard mini USB socket, it has a thin USB socket that is kind of proprietary. Also, no call record option during a phone call. Activating in-call features is slightly messy and yes, there is no W-Fi but I can understand at this price they may not be able to throw in a WiFi option.
I recommend this phone to those who would want to experiment touch phone and those who understand value for money!
Here are some of its features: Measures 11.9mm. 3.0-inch WQVGA full-touch screen. Samsung’s TouchWiz User Interface with Mobile Widgets and an accelerometer sensor. “Photo Contact” to call a contact just by touching an image. 3.2 mega-pixel camera with smile recognition. Samsung’s DNSe sound engine and multi-format playback. Recognition using Shazam’s “Find Music” service. 50MB Internal memory (expandable up to 8GB). Google applications like Google Search, Gmail, Google maps; online widgets and photo blogging.
