I am really happy to write a Review on my cute Samsung -X480 and share the same with my friends in the MouthShut. Before I went in for this model of Samsung, I had one NOKIA 1100, which I used for about two years with complete satisfaction. It was sleek and functional, but to hear the caller distinctly and enable him/her to hear you clearly, there was a button to be pressed, while in the talking mode. For a perfectionist like me, it was bothersome. Moreover, I wanted a really small Cell Phone, which I could hold and hide in my Palm, and which could go to my shirt pocket without making its presence obvious.
In July 2005, I had been to Gandhigram( Tamil Nadu ) for a Conference. A friend of my son-in-law, Dr. Raja,took me to his friend's huge Electronic Shop in Dindigul,when I told him about my desire to go in for a new Cell Phone after getting a suitable exchange price for my NOKIA 1100. He was glad to take me there. I was really happy to be there, and the gentleman introduced me to the Shop Keeper and told him about my requirements. He greeted me with a hot cup of Coffee and we went into conversation. I showed him my NOKIA 1100and told him about the reasons for having another Cell Phone. He examined the same and told him not to change it. Finally he was convinced , and asked me to choose my model . My attention was focussed on a small Phone, sleek and beautiful in design, which could be opened and folded at ease. I told him that I have selected my Phone and requested him to let me have it for a while and examine it. He did so, and I told him to make the deal. He allowed me Rs.4000.00 for my NOKIA 1100, asked me to pay him Rs.1,600.00 for having Samsung SGH-X480. I gave him a Cheque. The purchase was complete.
Since then I have been using it to my complete satisfaction. It is studded with many features like the Phonebook to store up to 2000 contact numbers, SMS transmission facility Melody Composer, Morning Alarm, Calendar and to do list, Voice Recorder, Java based embedded Games and downloading new Games, and the like. It has a Wireless Access Protocol ( WAP ), and Internet compatibility.
Its sound qualityb is loud and clear, so much so that any person near the user can hear the person at the other end. If you want privacy in conversation, you can plug in the stylish silver-coloured earphones.
Its charging Apapter is quite functional and sturdy in design. Above all, it comes with an execllent and well written User's Guide, all packed up in a attractive Case.
Since then I have been using it with pride and pleasure, and have been giving it the care it deserves.
