I bought this phone (Samsung Wave GT-S8500) from Connought Place, New Delhi on 2nd Aug 10 for 18000/-. This is such a cool phone in Bada Platform. I have attached video and pics for some information. You can see the video quality n photo captured by this phone in Delhi. When I opened the box what I I got was Travel Charger, Earphones, 2GB micro SD card with Adapter, Micro USB Cable, User Manual, 2 CDs, Warrant Card n a leather case. The battery was already there. I had done some research on Net and seen video on Youtube before buying it so I became a fan of it. To fully charge this phone, you need approximately 140 minutes in Idle mode. The first thing I checked was the speed, it zooms and hardly gets stuck at places. I tried to activate the Call Tracker, it was easy.
I also trued to register at https://samsungdive.com for tracker. It works. I tried GPS through Wifi and it gave me the location. Navigation is paid. Connecting to Wifi was also easy n it never bothered me. In Delhi, this phone is not available in many shops. I was trying to get a TV out cable but none shop had it, even samsung website does not mention it neither any samsung showrooms have it. I think a Nokia Xpress Music 5800 TV out cable should do the trick here as it is a 3.5mm jack.
Call recording feature is inbuilt in this phone and you can record conversations without any beep. If you activate sensor, the phone will mute when ringing if you keep it down faced. The proximity sensor also works best and the screen goes off when near face while talking. Games are also very fast. I was able to install some Bada applications like Mymirror, rashawack, caligo, 3Bloki, Shotgun, Piano, World subway, Algebra, Compass, Magic Torch, Speed Touch, Bongo Sound, Flower Madness, Mdict, minidairy, Tetrix, starmaps etc. They all work flawless, some of them needs an active GPRS/Wifi connection. I used a 16GB sandisk micro sd card class 4 and the access time was very good. I showed all the required capacity and data transfer rate was excellent as it should be for a class 4 card. I put lot of songs there n the audio quality was impressive.
There are some weak points that could have been taken care of. Camera lens cover should be there. Many installed application does not have back or exit button, hence to go back to the main menu, u press centre button and in background, all those applications are still running! There is no option to see sell info for location of tower. Also when you connect the phone to the computer, Kies does not detect the phone till u close all applications running in the background through task manager.
Video camera quality is quite good. I have attached a sample video and photo. Camera response time is also very good. U can adjust many features there. Flash light is quite strong. Over all this phone is good for its price range and segment.
