We got this RT31 in Jun 2005 after a thorough market survey.Having realised that Samsung and LG ruled roost in this sector, we decided to give ourselves a taste of Korean technology.our first impression was very good.free delivery, prompt demo and all that.Good times do not last, and teh same was applicable in this case.
We were, however, not very happy with the brazing/layout of the compressor piping.looks as though it has been done by some wayside shop.
One and a half years later, in Dec 2006, the freezer fan and the inside lamp stopped working.I checked the circuit diagram and realised it was a problem with the door switch.This has a three way contact .when the fridge door is open ie. the lamp is on, the freezer fan is designed to be off.This is achieved through the three way contact switch.
The center strip in the switch had cracked and as a result, the contact points for the fan/lamp were not engaging properly.
That is Korean quality for you.a door switch packing up in 1.5 years.
My Godrej Cold Gold gave me trouble free performance for 15 years.it has been sold and continues to chug along.That is Indian quality.
It is very unfortunate that we haVE NOT SUPPORTED OUR OWN MANUFACTURERS AND HAVE ALLOWED KOREANS TO DOMINATE THE MARKET.
