We bought a so called ‘premium’ Samsung side-by-side fridge, from an authorized dealer in Noida as we live in Noida itself.

Just after 1 year i.e. on 16 Dec, 2012 my fridge stopped cooling!
Day 1 – 16 Dec – Called up Samsung customer care - Complaint no. 8433842428
20% of food stock kept in fridge got spoiled!
Day 2 – 17 Dec – Technician visited in the afternoon(Name: Rohit – M: .6961)
Rohit diagnosed - gas has leaked and someone would come today itself to refill it. Whole day went by but nobody came till the evening. On calling up Rohit technician no response came.
30% more food stock got spoiled!
Day 3 – 18 Dec – We called up customer care 2-3 times but no one came.
30% more food stock kept in fridge got spoiled!
Day 4 – 19 Dec – Called up customer care multiple times. Lucky for us we got a call from a second technician saying, our gas will not be filled today but tomorrow. I blasted him on the phone and demanded for same day visit as our fridge is not working since past 4 days now. And, there is almost nothing in the food stock!
Finally, (Yogender – M: .6744) gas guys came on the same day and opened up the fridge. On enquiring why gas leaked in just 1 year? I was told, gas is not leaked but copper pipe is thin and it got choked as a result gas is not getting through it. To repair they opened up the pipe and showed me a thin copper pipe with dust in it. I got a shock when I enquired, how did dust got in, technician told us sir there is dust in Delhi-NCR air and as these copper pipes are thin even little dust get these thin pipes choked.
So technician cleaned the pipe and gas was refilled again and then he closed up the fridge. He asked us not to open fridge doors for 1-2 hours so that fridge is cooled. They charged us Rs. 1500. We paid.
But to my amazement, even after 3 hours there was no improvement in the fridge. In fact it is still non-functional the way it was on Day 1!
This brings me to my questions -

Is this problem for real? Used copper pipes are thin and though they are sealed but dust would find its way in and choke them? Even if your kitchen is always neat n clean?
Didn’t Samsung know about Delhi-NCR climate when they started selling these Premium fridges here!
Couldn’t Samsung warn their Delhi-NCR consumers about such problems when they are buying these expensive commodities from Samsung?
What is the point of buying expensive / premium fridges if their life expectancy is just one year?
Samsung Refrigerators Sucks!
