Worst Refrigerator...Poor Service

I have bought the fridge from Samsungfirst time in my life (May 2004). I was looking for a 200L capacity refrigerator and thought to go for RA 20, looking on its features. It was delivered and installed at my place by the dealer at night.


I was suggested to run it empty overnight and use it from next day. I was astonished to see that it was not cooling at all. It was more like a beautiful almirah. I complained to the dealer and they forwarded it to Samsung Serice Center. The engineer from Samsung came and inspected it, next day another guy came from samsung to replace the compressor. I said that I haven't used it for a single day.


So instead of repair I insisted for replacement. The fridge was replaced, it ran fine for 2 months then one day I did defrost and it was dead. Same process again started and a person came to fill the gas of compressor. It again went fine for a month and then it again went of. This time I told the service guys that there is some problem with the model itself, which they didn't accept. They took it to there workshop did a lot of R&D on it and sent back after 10 days.


This time our poor fridge was looking pathetic. I don't know what it went through. I also noticed that there is a new copper wire added on the back from the compressor to the ice chamber and it also started making a lot of noise. I called service people to inspect it, the person gave a very blunt reply that it is doing the cooling very fine. My question was that is that the cooling only which we consider while buying the fridge. I also told him that if that was the case then I would have even bought a 2 year old fridge with half the cost. He had no answer.


I again ran from pillar to the post and my fridge was again taken back to the workshop. This time they changed the alignment of the compressor and the noise was reduced. A few days back I did the defrost and now it seems that sometimes it makes a noise of the kind of cracker. Seems like a gift of samsung around diwali. I again called the service center.


The same guy came again in the evening, just observed the fridge for 20 minutes and left away. We told that the noise is not all the time and happens after regular interval but no use. He just went away. Totally lack of customer care. We have spent a lot of time during the past five months and even insisted that we are ready to pay more to buy higher end model but no one agrees upon it.


I'll strongly recommed others that there is problem with this model of samsung. So don't even think of buying it.
