Well finally after 2 months of the phone being in the service center Samsung finally replaced my phone with a new PCB and motherboard and gifted me a brand new charger.


I finally sent the mouthshut.com review link to Samsung and pointed out to the growing no.of views of my posting for 2 weeks nothing happened and I got update from Samsung so my next move was to shoot and email to all the email ids in Samsung which I got from Linkedin.com and I sent out my email to all the email ids I got from there about 25 email id of samsung employees in got from there and sent my complaint email to them,


the very next day morning 10am I get a call from Samsung Sr. manager and he resolved the issue in 3 days flat with my request met and since then Samsung has been following up regarding the performance of the phone with me. Today they even delivered a free charger to me. Though initially I was upset but today I am happy Samsung customer with post sales service Samsung's service. had this process been faster I would have been a delighted customer nevertheless.

I bought a Samsung Omnia mobile phone (being an early customer of the product) having seen their advertisements and limited reviews on the internet on December 8, 2008 for Rs 35000/- (cash down). 2 months down, my phone started to have problems with the charger. I gave the phone for repair to Samsung's service centre (Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. CC-28, NEHRU ENCLAVE, KALKAJI), on the 9th of March 2009 and was told that the phone's charging part needed repair and also that the USB part is damaged (I only transferred photo’s from my phone to my laptop). Then Samsung informed that this repair will not be covered in warranty as there is a damage. And I am billed INR 9300/- for the repair.


Now, I am extremely disappointed that Samsung Omnia is such an unreliable phone even though great claims are made in their advertisements. Secondly, Samsung takes no responsibility of the defects in their phone (such a high value item, and not any ordinary phone). I am now forced to use this defected phone (I do not know how many more problems I am going to face), definitely I cannot rely on this phone now for my contacts, data, photo’s and workability (I am already having to manage without my phone for 3 full weeks now).


After my constant follow up Samsung's Service center manager Ms Kusum Agarwal over the phone told me that they will repair the phone free of cost but by now I am clear that I want a replacement of the phone with a brand new phone (same model) to which it has been 2 weeks and there is just no responce from Samsung. I purchased Samsung Omnia phone keeping in mind my work demands but now , I am sceptical of its reliability to keep my contact database and other critical documents in the phone. Till date Samsung has not made written communication all the information is given on phone which has no record. Samsung's website and no contact email or phone number of any manager or employee so there is no way the customer can contact for grievience you only end up calling the frustrating call center who have no decision making power other than just giving u the service centers number.


I just hope whoever reads this review does not buy a Samsung Omnia Mobile Phone and gets cheated by Samsung like me. I have been without my phone for 3 weeks now and managing without my contacts database and on top of that wasting my time and energy on all the follow up on Samsung.
