Same product is selling for Rs. 40, 000 in USA ($1, 000)
This product got released in Indian market on Apr 21, 2007.
After lot of research in google I bought this model couple week back.
(If you haven't decided on whether to go for Plasma TV or LCD TV, don't think. Go and get a LCD TV. Plasma TVs are heavy and they get patchy spots in display area over years. Also for close viewing LCD is best by far. LCD Vs Plasma war was won by LCD)
Cost of LA32R81B is same as LA32R71B (price as of now).
But LA32R81 has the following extra features compared to LA32R71B

I use this TV with Dish TV.
TV is as good as you can get.
I have connected my extra computer with this TV. I also bought a Logitech Cordless Desktop Ex90 (Rs. 1600) and connected it with the computer. Using this now I can browse on my TV. and play Internet games sitting in couch. Resolution (1360x768) is very good for computer usage. (Just like switching from TV to DVD, you have to switch from TV to computer using remote)
I had to change my DPI setting on windows XP to Large. Browsing and playing internet games on TV from couch with wireless keyboard and mouse is wonderful. (If you plan to use computer, make sure your resolution is set to 1360x768 windows XP) PIP (picture in picture) works only between computer and TV channels.
