I bought the Samsung Galaxy watch 5 pro 44 mm for my teenage kids, upgrading from a samsung active 2 and a samsung gear watch.
the 44 mm watch does look huge compared to the older watches and comes in a titanium case with steel or black color options. I got one with the LTE option and would like to say that it seamlessly copies your sim data and connects to your service provider to authenticate the feature and its all done in 10 minutes.
tried the USA bought watch on airtel and VI and both worked just fine after authentication. having said that, I found little use for a LTE function, unless you plan on outdoor activities like cycling or trekking or any such activities where carrying your phone would be a hindrance.
the watch still has the screen recessed giving it some degree of protection from hits and falls. the dial now also has the digital bezel on the periphery and you run your finger around to scroll through menus.
it adds a lot of health features, including body fat measuring, which appears to be correct and BMI calculation and a host of other fitness and health tracking and notifications. sadly the ECG and blood pressure measurements do not work in india.
battery life is more than doubled from previous versions.
comparable to apple watch series 8 in features.
it also has a GPS and can continue guidance even without your phone for previously searched and downloaded locations.
one more tip, you need to be on android 11 to run the samsung app correctly and connect to your watch easily, older versions sometimes do allow the app to progress to next step and get stuck .
