I bought Samsung Galaxy ace just about 2 weeks ago and I am more than satisfied with the phone. I did a long research for 2 weeks, comparing various options in different brands and even different products in Samsung only. I shortlisted 3 phones in Samsung Galaxy series - Galaxy Fit, Ace and SL (i9003).
I almost decided to buy Galaxy SL as it had better screen resolution (480 x 800), better processor (1 ghz) and better video camera (720p) and inbuilt memory of 4 GB. But somehow I didnt like the looks of Galaxy SL. Out of these 3 phones, ACE is the best looking phone with excellent build quality. It has that chrome body which looks very cool. And also its back side has rough carbon type body which provides an excellent look and good grip in the hands.
So I selected ACE finally because of its reasonable features, beautiful looks and very good pricing.. I got it at 14, 200 from Hyderabad (It required lot of bargaining though).
What I liked

Build quality of the phone. It feels firm and strong in hands. Just correct weight
Looks. The chrome black color looks pretty cool. The back side also looks great. There is a option to change the back side to white glossy cover which is supplied with the phone
Screen is very responsive to gestures. The resolution and brightness of the screen is also very good. The screen looks bright and colorful even when I set the brightness to very low level (25%). Also the screen is resistant to scratches. But I suggest to get a screen protector.
The call quality is good.
Speaker is aptly loud and the audio quality is good
Very good still camera and reasonable video camera (320 x 240). The camera comes with a LED flash.
The leather pouch which came along with the phone gives a royal look to the phone.
Even though the RAM is not of very high capacity, but the phone is pretty fast to response to user actions. I didnt observe any lags when playing any games or using any apps.
Another good thing about the phone is that it allows you to install apps on SD card storage.
What I didnt like -

The battery life is on the downside. It drains out pretty quickly if I use Internet. You have to recharge every 1-2 days.
The earphones supplied with the phone are of very ordinary quality.
The KIES application which is used to sync with PC is very slow and hangs intermittently.
I observed a problem with the phone. Whenever I am running some apps or using Internet and if the call comes, then the phone becomes unresponsive and the call drops. I observed this phenomenon 2-3 times.
Another thing which I didnt like in the phone is that there is no button/ control to close the browser at any instant. You have to repeatedly press back button until it reaches the home page and then the browser closes. Similar problem is there with some other apps also. I dont know this is a problem with the phone or Android OS itself.
Overall I am more than satisfied with the phone and happy that I made the correct choice. If you are looking for a smartphone in the range of 14-18k, this is the best choice for you.
