I am a die hard fan of Samsung'A' series smart phones and I had been over using an A7(2016) that served me loyally for over two years until one night when I accidentally put it down from the upper berth of my train coach. The gorilla corning 2.5 had cracked & the authorized service centre quoted a whopping 5500/- to replace the same. A friend of mine was interested in my handset and picked it off me for 5000/- on as is where is basis.
My obvious next choice was the sleek & beautifully made A7(2018). A sleek and sexy looking triple camera beast with a world's first ultra wide angle lens. Blue color was my preference as I was beginning to get bored with white / black & gold shades. Walked into Trancell Solutions - authorized Samsung dealer located in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. I picked up the 6 GB RAM / 128 GB model which costed me about 26000/- through easy EMI from HDFC finance that also had a cash back offer. Below are my immediate observations:-
1) Weighs light at approx 168 grams. Slim too at 8.5 mm
2) 6 in. super amoled hd brilliant infinity display.
3) Triple camera set up at rear can put some DSLR's to shame!
4) Front 24MP camera with LED flash takes amazing selfies.
5) The camera effects are stunning, especially the'Bokeh" effect which softens and blurs background quickly.
6) The finger print sensor mounted on the power button works like a charm & is very easy to use. The face detection works very well too.
7) Always ON display & notifications is a very useful feature especially at night.
8) Tuck this beauty into your shirt pocket & people will keep asking you about it! What a way to get noticed!
9) The flawless performance & reliability of a Samsung'A' series phone is worth that extra premium you pay over many chinese phones.
Have been addicted to it now. Expensive but worth every rupee. Some of the very useful features like Fast charging & C type USB connectors are missing at this high price point. Also the 3300 maH battery does not do justice for such a power draining beast. Overall I would definitely recommend this smart phone for those of you who are contemplating to buy one. Cheers.
