I was changing over for the first time from the conventional TV to the Pure Flat Version. Saw many Brands such as Sony, Panasonic, and Videocon but finally decided on the Samsung.
The foremost worry in my mind while deciding on the brand was the availability of After Sales Service because most Television Company’s mention only their price and the features in the advertisement but nobody speaks of the After Sales Service. Believe me, most of us get carried away by the blah-blah of the advertisements or the sales person’s talks but seldom do we pay attention to the After Sales Service factor.
I chose Samsung because of the TV’S features, Picture Quality plus another most important deciding factor was that Samsung’s Service Centre is located very close to where I live.
The TV is good with the following features:
Pure Flat TV, 200 Channels, Channel Scan, 400W PMPO, 5 Band Graphic Equalizer, 53cms Picture Tube, Full Function Remote, Auto Tuning On Remote, Channel Skip, Channel Sorting, Zoom/16:9 Mode, 5 Picture Modes, Auto Sound Leveller, 4 Speakers, Line Stereo, Child Lock, Side Av In, 2 Back Av In, DVD In, Monitor Out
The Remote has an additional feature “Glow in the Dark”.
The Side AV IN is an excellent feature which allows the connecting of a camcorder with easy instead of searching for the socket at the back of the TV.
Drawbacks:
The Auto Sound Leveller is not very effective.
A green patch has started appearing on the right hand side bottom corner of the TV. On calling the Service Centre – they checked the same and said that this is due to the magnetic field sometimes and I should not worry as the TV is perfectly fine. But this is not sometimes – it is all the time and is very irritating.
