The trend where people run behind Nokia phones has came to an end. Samsung has come up with a phone with all advanced technological features, that too at a very good price. I am taking about Samsung Corby Pro which was launched during Dec 2009(or before?)
In February I decided to migrate to a 3G+ Touch+ GPS enabled phone from Motorazer V3i. I searched all around by comparing each and every phone in the market. Due to some reason I didn't trust touchscreen and wanted Qwerty Keyboard as back up option. All my searches ended in Samsung Corby Pro @ 12K(Now it is available @10K). Bought the same in February 2010
Today, after 5 months, I think I am in a position to write a review about it(28th June 2010).
Key attractive Features:
Fast syncing with GPS - If line-of-sight available, it would hardly take 1 minute to sync with GPS satellites. After that trust me, it will keep itself in sync even if in the case of partial LOS. Only problem is the requirement of internet connectivity to download google maps. Other advantage is - if GPS is not available it will show approx. location using Cell info.
Battery backup - If you are a normal user of the phone, you can easily keep running ur phone without charging at least for 3 days. I have used GPS continuously for 3-4 hours without draining the battery
Support of all video and audio formats(if downloaded through Samsung PC Software). Better free conversion software are available online too(Any Video Converter - free)
Good sensitive Touch Screen, Office viewer, GPRS-EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth etc+ Std. Keyboard-like Qwerty
Hands free socket and jack are compatible with Computer speakers.
Charging via USB cable - One of the very handy feature for professional travelers
You need not buy anything extra(as in the case of Nokia phones). Everything including 2GB extra memory comes with the Phone
Drawbacks:
1.I got a couple of phone restarts recently at the time of Google maps access Don't know why? But no restarts during its normal operations for sure.
- A bit bulky, need to live with that - and a need for keeping the mobile in its Std. Cover because of touch screen
I would say - A good phone at better price. If you are looking for a good economical - feature wise best phone, Got for it and I am sure that you will be happier after owning and using it.
