After a long time, we discovered a restaurant in Bangalore which has food (especially non-veg) with a good South Indian taste. They used to operate in Forum Mall, but now they have closed shop there (high rentals, probably :-) and opened up here at Commercial Street, near the entrance.
Apart from the good food taste (cooked in Tamil Nadu style) which I usually don't find in many other South Indian restaurants here in Bangalore, what struck me most was the customer service we received. The chief person there (probably the owner too, I am guessing) took utmost personal attention, giving suggestions on the menu according to our preference, explaining the differences patiently on his own etc. He also went to the extent of giving some small samples for us to try out during our course of food, although we hadn't asked for or expected it. So we were pleasantly surprised when the waiter brought us a few items for us to try.
The ambience was not that great. Probably not meant to be a 'high-class' restaurant, but it was decent & hygienic enough. After a fulfilling non-veg dinner, the bill for 2 ppl was around Rs.225, whereas usually for a similar dinner, I remember paying around 400-500 rs in the other similar restaurants.
Overall it was a good experience, and I do intend to go back to try out some of the other items on the menu.
