Salaam Namaste - another breezy romantic movie from Yash Raj , I thought.

And I wasnt dissapointed when I watched the movie.

In short - The movie is about a Chef (Saif ) and a RJ (Preity) - both work in Melbourne and have an initial spat only to fall in love later. They decide to try out living togather to confirm whether they are made for each other or not. Things are breezy . light , romantic and hot upto this point and then Preity gets pregnant...and the movie nose dives in the 2 nd half.

Saif doesnt want the kid and Preity decides to have it - but they have to live togather because of the house they rented .....the rest of the movie is how both realise that they truly love each other and get back togather.

Of the cast - Saif is super , he has made this cool dude character his own and here too he plays it with aplomb. Preity is good too , good foil to the character Saif plays. Arshad Warsi and Jugal Hansraj as friends of Saif and Preity have done well too. Javed Jaffri ROCKS the house as an Australian Feroze Khan.

Music - the title track and My dil goes hmmm are hummable - the other songs are best forgotten.

Cinematography - good and besides with a wonderful location like Melbourne, the look of the movie is very international.

Direction - Debutante director Siddarth has the pace perfect with the breezy 1st half but loses it in the 2nd half. Pretty good effort though for a first timer.

Some scenes just dint tickle my funny bone- Preity screaming she had to work even when she is 7 months pregnant and in the very next scene she dances perfectly with Saif in the most idiotic song sequence.

Also the last scene when Preity is delivering - could have been handled with more matuarity but the director goes in for comic situations introducing Abhishek B as the bumbling doctor .

I think playing around with a serious issue like pregnancy and child birth wasnt good. but thats my personal opinion.

All in all , Good for a watch.
