~~~Preity is Pregnant~~~. Review on Salaam Namaste

What is the main reason? why the movie is in news from last 2 month or so? Simple Yash Raj involvement in the movie. The movie starring Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan in lead and among rest of them Arshad Warsi, Abhishek Bachchan, Jugal Hansraj & Javed Jafferi are the best used characters. Music by Vishal-Shekhar is already hit in the market and among the top selling albums of the year, once again thanxx to the extensive promotion by Yash Raj.

Story(if you haven’t watched the movie yet then I suggest you to not to read the story and skip this paragraph.

Without delaying just come to the story. In short the story is about Preity & Saif who in start due to given reasons (in the movie) didn’t like each other later try to give them a chance by living together. They rent an apartment from Javed Jafferi who looks so awkward in the role. One day by chance Preity breaks news that she is Pregnant and there the whole problem arises. Saif didn’t want child and they tried to attempt abortion Preity get emotional and decided not to abort the child. She also makes a wise decision by have big fight sequences still not left their joint apartment. The decision finally proves right and she finds a soft corner in Saif’s heart and as usual in the end they both agree to live together and Happiness reaches its destination. Arshad Warsi is playing an important supporting role but if you completely skip his portion there will be a minor affect in the duration of the film not in the story. It’s just an added spice. He is friend of Saif and is flirt try on every girl finally got married to and Aussi girl. His acting in comic role is wonderful no doubt.

These 200 words are the theme of the movie and now come to treatment of the movie. Though the theme looks interesting but due to some lengthy sequences and some unneeded ones the movie sometimes bored like in order to present the movie as bold showing Preity as pregnant and her tummy was shown needless to prove pregnancy. Then the bathroom sequences could be trimmed and look more decent. Javed Jafferi was not needed in the movie at all it was misusage of a character shows the lack ness of controlling and scripting skills. The movie was hyped as the youth movie and touted as message more than entertainment to youth. Here I say the director completely lacks the basic idea of message and interpreted the message in awful manner. The message which comes out from the movie is that every boy and girl must live together before marriage and if they like each other then they have to marry and in case pregnancy broke out then boy has to realize and marry the girl. Now everyone would be saying “Yar this girl is getting emotional” but I have a reason for that. There is no person in the world who want to share his her partner and if the movie end in happy mode this doesn’t mean a next coming inspired girl and boy who incidentally happen to fall in the same situation and release them from each other. Finally who will take care of that girl. Neither people of this earth nor the God in the heaven one who commits such mistake by knowing its wrong, has no mercy by anyone not even God. Movies are not only meant that they are for entertainment purpose but for giving lessons to the people as well. When unnatural events are the topic of your movie you have to be more careful rather careless which Siddharth Anand has done with his film. If you say 9/11 event was rightly done and is in favour of everyone then its wrong it was an unnatural man tried activity and no reason to justify this act could not settle the truth of that its wrong. Same before marriage child is wrong unnatural no reason could ever justify it.

Now come to performances.

Arshad Warsi: He topped this movie without doing awful activities he proved that one can made people laugh. Most laughing moment was in the climax when the doctor says it’s a boy and he says see there must be a girl see inside it must be here or there. Awesome acting by Arshad.

Abhishek Bachchan: his voiceover was in a nice style and impresses in the end where he has a little appearance but enough to love it.

Preity Zinta: She was nice. Reminds her movie Kya Kehna and some sort of similar situation in this movie too. She will appeal to everyone specially the fight sequence between her and Saif.

Saif Ali Khan: he was also nice and ok. He is still struggling to come out of his bad poses but he is bearable in the movie. But he was not the only perfect for the role this role could be replaced by ones if one wanted to.

Jugal Hansraj: He needs good roles but like Iqbal where don’t have to speak because dialogue delivery is not his kind of job.

Javed Jafferi: Just one word AWFUL

Vishal-Shekhar: Giving nice music and here too proves their ability. My Dil Goes Hmm Hmmm… is nice song but lyrics are a bit downer. Salaam Namaste is good whereas Whats Going on is also a decent one. Tu Jahan is fool proof copy of Sun Zara. Overall a good soundtrack.
