Ramanand Sagar's Sai Baba is one of the serials I really like the most. Most beautifully depicted right from the birth of this saint in the small village of Shirdi. The serial looks as if it depicts the real Shirdi of early 1900.
The Sagar's are always known for taking mythological serials like Sri Krishna, Jai Ganga Maiyaa, Sampoorna Ramayan. Sai baba is one among the best serials that they have given.The cast looks realistic. The man who portrays Sai Baba, Mukul Nag has acted brilliantly. In fact my parents say that he looks like the real Sai Baba whose photograph is there in our house. Many might say that Sudhir Dalvi is always the Sai Baba that we know, but Mukul Nag has in some ways outclassed him with his brilliant acting.
The other characters like Lakshmi ki Maa, Shyama, Mahalsampathi act in such in a way that it makes one believe that they are the real ones. The good thing about the Sagar's is they choose the right people for the right roles and they have again showed it. I was not a Sai baba devotee until I started watching the serial in 2007.
Some bhajans in the serial may bring tears in our eyes due to the meaning of them. Believe it or not after I started watching the serial my problems are getting greatly reduced. Now I'am becoming more and more cheerful and happy. By following the serial I have made some changes in my life and I'am spreading hapiness to my family.
Some of the messages that Sai baba gives in thsi serial make us repent how mean and selfish we are. This serial make children and adults learn that in order ro reach god we should stop hurting people and bring a smile in everyone's face so that God shower's his blessings on us. His famous sayings are " Money can bring happiness but not God", " Sabka Malik Ek"
Looking at how poor other serials in Star Plus, especially those of Ekta's this serial is a welcome change. Every Sunday my whole family watches Sai baba and we feel that we learn a lot about life thanks to this Wonderful Serial.
