Sagar Alias Jackie is an all out entertainer slick and suave. This movie was reviewed by critics as a movie with no storyline. Well! the movie was made to be a fast paced action thriller and it very much stuck up to its genre. Well! My dispute with this so called “storyline thing” off late is that none of the movies released had a fair storyline, even big hits like “Verithai oru Bharya” or even the super hit “to Harihar nagar”. It was all subject to the genre and the makers were all set to achieve their goal. Take any movie for instance and dispute it in your own mind and you could come to the conclusion.
The fast paced screenplay the suave editing made the flick a worth watch after Amal Neerad’s earlier venture “Big B”. Amal’s maiden venture bought about a whole lot of change to Malayalam cinema. For the first time did you get a feel of watching a movie out of Kerala to be a edge of the seat adrenalin rush. For the first time viewer kept the image of a stylish Mammuty or Mohan Lal after you left the halls. You are in for a visual treat on the expansive sets of SAJ. You will see Lal board his private jet as his conveyance to his offshore destinations. Hummers, Audi’s, Toyota’s, Ferrari’s, stretched Limos grace the screen as his local conveyance. The motion slowed for the more panache added to the overall style of the canvas(the slow motion walk and fights).Never has Jothirmai looked so beautiful sizzling to “OOsaMAA” the item song.
The Bhavana – Lal admiration/infatuation did not let off whistles as it died as admiration and did not take it to the next level depicted in “The Graduate”.The only thing which was not in place was the song between Bhavana and Lal which let off a few whistles. The story starts off when Lal dashes from Dubai in his private jet to Kerala and hop skips to Goa and back, to save his friend’s husband. From there begins the action of killing, deception, sabotage and conspiracy. The racy entertainer has a huge cast to its credit Lal, Shobana, Bhavana, Nedumudi Venu, Manoj K Jayan, etc…. The movie is a total adrenalin rush. When we watch a movie we need to enjoy the flick by forgetting the lives we are living. We need not have to watch a movie to remember the problems we are facing and for three hours if the director holds our fancy I think he has done a great job. The movie is a must watch if we want to achieve three hours of plush high life and rides in a private jet and Lamborghinis.
