Overrated Sachin(Sachin Vs Saurav). Review on Sachin Tendulkar

Since world cup is just round the corner and especially after the miserable tour of NewZealand,the public's expectation are a bit low.Often comparisons are drawn between different players and this one is pretty much on the expected lines since this duo has been the most successful opening pair in One day cricket.When you look at the records of both ,they are class apart from others and thats why they are called class players.But I feel Sachin has been made quite a hype by the media to get a brandname which can be associated with any product.Never before a cricketer has been so hyped as he has been.

Sachin has better array of shots than saurav and also sachin doesnot have any shortcomings to any particular ball like saurav has against Shortpitched delivery on his chest.

But what I donot like about sachin is he has not performed well in high pressure matches and has not been a great finisher at all.To cite few examples,take Asia Cup Final(India Vs Pakistan) or Natwest Final(India Vs England).I think in all these matches Saurav clearly performed better.I just donot understand the debate about batting slot of world class players like sachin.No doubt that he has performed very well at opening slot but he must be ready to bat at any position and perform well.I think saurav has performed well at 4 compared to sachin nowadays.

There is hardly any doubt that Saurav is a much much better captain than sachin whatever may be the reason,records speak of themselves.May be Sachin is having all the records in batting but has he served the purpose of cricket team?Great players distinguish themseleves in adversity like Steve Waugh,Kapil Dev and someone in my opinion Sachin doesnot come any near to them.If he can win World Cup or a overseas series then I will say Sachin is great player.
