It’s a great day for India. Not because they won the test match with England but it’s because poor man’s God created another history reaching his 41st Century. Who am I to talk about him? He says ‘If the team wins, then it’s more special to me’. Well, the team wins and he placed his willow to hit the fence and the crowd cheered him like before. He is back in action. And I say age is not a barrier for true spirit. This is about legendary batsmen Sachin Tendulkar.

It’s been quite some time he is in Indian cricket. Giving nightmares to all the bowlers and threaten them giving his shadow on the crease. Now, they criticized him for loosing his midas touch. But the master always replied with his bat. He never gave any reply in words. But his action always spoke for him. If I say there is only one legend (Pardon me Lara, Ponting) then would you ask me to stop talking about cricket? Well, cricket for me is all about Sachin Tendulkar. And he is the man who lifted India from ashes in many a times. Now, I see people praising him and leaving him alone when he disappoints us. But he always played for our Country. He plays for India. And the blood rushes from his head to the game giving many journalists to create news around him. He politely avoids them and rather focuses on his game. Now, my readers I’m excited and sorry to divert you all from this humble personality’s statistics over my praises for him. 387 runs been chased. History been written.

If I start talking about his records then boys who just started practicing cricket would laugh at me. He crossed almost all the records leaving one to think how I am supposed to write another book. How am I supposed to write another book to re write history?

SNAPSHOT:

He was born in Mumbai. His brother Ajit encouraged him to play cricket. And like we all know he was trained under Ramakant Achrekar. He was the one who see a future in Tendulkar and later history speaks for this legend. He played his first test match against Pakistan in Karachi when he was just 16 years old. He scored 15 runs and many were amazed by the way he treated Pakistani pace bowlers. Later he hit a half century to let the media talk that the best is yet to come.

Many came and few stayed. And Tendulkar saw them leaving and of course the real master still follow his vision. That is to play for India. My memory is been taken back to 90’s where he threated Shane Warne and the rest belting them black and blue over the Australians and above the fence. Well, Tony Creig appreciated little master for taking India to victory where we stand and salute this master for his one man show. And I say one man show to victory.

All is not well in life and Tendulkar faced a bad patch when he captained India. Maybe he was not matured enough to handle a team when he was given captaincy and if he was not given that responsibility then, we would have seen many records being re-written. But it’s all fair when it comes to life. If you remember and if you think you have some thing to crib about then please go back and get your facts straight. He single handedly too India to reach the finals in the 2003 World Cup scoring 673 runs in 11 matches. And also the drawn series between India and Australia in 2003/2004 clearly shows ‘Little Masters’ effort in hitting 241* in Sydney. Well, if you ask me to show his records then this review is not enough for me to show the facts. But for the same fact I doubt if google would be able to showcase his talents in facts and figures. Number of ‘Man of the matches’, Number of ‘Centuries’, Number of ‘matches played’ what more do I need to talk about him?

Sachin Tendulkar is a silent killer. He used his mind over the game. His fitness was on question at many times however he managed to come back with a bang. He was there for us always. I felt so bad when he got out in 90’s and I guess he holds a record for the same too. But you see its long 19 years. And I guess he is giving a tough competition for all the players out. And the message is very clear to all and it says he play for India. And it’s a message for all the fellow Indian’s to be proud of wearing that blue jersey that says ‘INDIA’. I still remember reading Sir Donald Bradman’s words in which he said Tendulkar to have a similar batting style and was impressed by his technique, shot production and compaction. What more do we need to talk about this small lad who dreamt of cricket, spent most of his time in the field practicing cricket and keeping his profile low to let the people talk that there is only one God in cricket. ‘God Rules’. And he is Sachin Tendulkar.

Honors:

He was given Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award recently. He was the Wisden cricketer for the year 1997 and of course who can beat that Sharja tournament performance? He was given Padma Shri in 1999 and perhaps the fourth highest civilian award in India. Sachin Tendulkar was given Arjuna Award in 1994.

Well, the honors are endless… and if you remember Shane Warne published his 50 greatest cricketers ever last year in which MASTER BLASTER was given the first priority. Long way to go Sachin and I say legends never die. I shall join the Ceremony and see Sachin talk about his match. Till then… it’s all of you to celebrate and thank you for taking time reading my short review on this Legend.
