note: A lof of people may not agree with my negative views in this review, please don't be offended and remember that this is JUST my point of view.
Nearly Perfect!
His cover drives, pull shots, leg glances and of course the killer passion is what makes him the best batsmen to have ever set foot on the turf! He is sheer genius, majestic class and the perfect batsman! uh oh! I would prefer calling him the ''nearly perfect'' batsmen! Though I agree with the fact that no other past or present player even comes close to his excellence, I disagree with the idea of him being the ''perfect batsman''! Like all humans he has his flaws! My justification is as follows:
None his innings have not been included in Wisden's greatest innings! Why?
# Because though he has played numerous splendid innings, they have never helped bring India out of a turmoiled situation!
# Also at a number of occasions he has played excellently in the league matches but underperformed in the finals!
# And ofcourse as we all know he has failed under the pressure of captaincy!
I am in no way ridiculing the great batsman but just pointing out that even geniuses have their flaws! A recent example is the world cup final in South Africa! I was highly disappointed. If you are ''Sachin Tendulkar'' then I have the full right to expect you to handle the situation much more maturely than he did! With all his experience he should have known better than playing a stupid shot in the very first over. At a moment like that I felt, that Sachin's 600+ runs throughout the tournament were overshadowed by his failure in the finals!
But still I do support the fact that ''There is Sachin, and then there are the rest!''
On behalf of all the Indians here in Australia, I pray for Sachin Tendulkar's well being and wish him a very Happy Birthday and also hope he will bring the cup home someday!
