Extravagant sets, Ornate surroundings, abnormal characters, ambiguous story and of course how can I forget the abrupt sprouts of songs. A producer of the stature of Sanjay Leela Bansali shocked me, I wasn’t sure if it was something that I would like to remember ever. The movie did not have anything worth mentioning except of course the bridge which was the non-living protagonist.

The one thing that strikingly comes to fore is the dark scenes in the picture, where morning was never the occasion. The orthodox Muslim environment where the actress wears no burqua or veil, roams around happily at night waiting for her lover to come back. Surprised! Not only this, she then goes around with a boy and gloriously flirts around with him.

On the other hand, it felt as if the hero was sleeping throughout the movie and was dreaming about something abstract. It took me a lot of time to come in consensus with the imaginary character and by the time I was feeling a little settled, Sonam Kapoor made me believe that I should rest my brains. By the time the movie ended I was thinking of ordering some coffee to refresh myself.

Rani Mukerjee dint need to be a pr*stitute for coxing the hero to profess his love for Sonam. I think a good friend, a sister anybody else would have been best. A fine actress was wasted, she could not strengthen hero character nor could she give a facelift to the somber movie.

Salmaan Khan was reduced to be a mamanquin. His character was just used to promulgate love and romance and he as in person was always missing. Salmaan could have been artfully used to render solace to the whole scenario. He was defamed as a lover who made his counterpart wait for one year over the “bridge”. The reason behind the waiting was unclear and unwarranted. I could have been happier to see him do something in the entire reel play.

Ranvir Kapoor is a good actor, I think it had to be in his blood. He dances well, with the towel on his back, he was hooted by the masses and the girls were all drooling for him. In some of the scenes, in trying to do justice to the character, he overacted that killed the entire somberness.

Anil Kapoor should start a teaching school and the first student on the rolls should be Sonam Kapoor. The character needed a little more charisma, a little more style and of course a lot of acting. There was no clear explanation as to why was she so confused and lost all the time. There wasn’t any reason why she cried and laughed at the same time. I guess this young girl should finish her school, college and then take a world tour and come back.

Zohra Sehgal as talented as she is remains the only character who you would adore. She is lovely and clearly comes out as a remarkable actress.

The character, the set and the songs had nothing to do with each other, it seemed as if the movie was made in blocks and put together haphazardly.
