Isn't sanjay leela bhansali so smart to release such a garbage movie with so much hype . on diwali with being against OM SHANTI OM?.yes he is beacuse he very well knew that this movie wouldnt make it against SRK's movie without hyping it so much, releasing on diwali n all .otherwise why would he plead SRK to delay his movie's release date?.
anyways lets get on to know what the movie is and what makes this movie the weakestamong SLB's superb creations:
The movie starts of with gulab(rani mukherjee) narrating the story of the so called' saawariya' in the movie and the story moves on .Raj( ranbir kapoor i.e the saawariya in the movie) is a happy-go-lucky guy who loves to make people happy all the time . Once he sees a pretty girl called Sakina( sonam kapoor) on a bridge and asks her why she is sad and tries to befriend her.They start hanging around in the dream town and then suddenly sakina tells raj that she is waiting for someone( iman i.e salman khan) and is madly in love with him .Finally raj being jealous about it tries all ways to prevent her from meeting iman by telling her that iman wont come and finally confesses his love to her .The same time iman arrives and sakina leaves with iman .
So whats so bad in this lovely story made into a movie by the ever greatest sanjay leela bhansali?.
1. The interaction( romance) of iman with sakina is not properly explained ( it looks as if iman comes, starts the romance and leaves)which makes this story a bit dull and hard to accept . had SLB reduced some uneccessary songs in the movie and concentrated on this point it would have been a bit more interesting .
- The irritating part is that the entire movie is dragged on for 3 hrs just because sakina is waiting for iman for 3 HRS of the movie . she just keeps on waiting for him .waiting for him . and there's no other interesting point in the movie to ponder upon .Every 5 minutes in the movie she starts believeing that iman has come & goes to the bridge to check it out .
3 The songs in the movie are just there .even the director might wonder why but they are just there .except songs like saawariya, jab se tere naina all songs are really dissapointing when comes to the situation .( not that the songs are bad but im talking about the situation in which these songs are put)
4 . The entire movie is blue shaded which makes it look really artificial and fake all the time .
5 Salman khan is wasted in the movie . doesnt even look like sakina's lover, looks much older to her.
6 Rani mukherjee it seems is there just to narrate and show her prostitue jalwas no importance at all in the story .
7 In the end of the movie things just happen
a) Suddenly sakina accepts that iman wont come and goes with raj for a while
b) In 5 minutes raj confesses his love
c) And in another 5 minutes you see iman waiting on the bridge and in 2 minutes sakina walking off with him.
7 The most disgusting part in the film is the END . it leaves you wondering whether the movie actually ended . is it a sad / happy ending? some people may call it sad .but after sakina leaves with iman Raj is actually playing with the football, hoping around .
A VERY SIMPLE STORY DRAGGED ON FOR 3 HRS with silly artificial and faking background, and songs just stuffed up .
The picture may be good but sadly the painter( sanjay leela bhansali) is not able to paint it properly for his audience this time like his earlier films .No SLB magic visible at all in saawariya .
