I don't think Saawariya has given justice in terms of plot or direction to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, we associate Sanjay with great movies like 'Black' and 'Devdas'. I feel in this movie his full potential as a director has not been exploited to the fullest, the actors also have not acted their very best. This proves that having a legacy of acting in your family is not enough to portray good acting skills.
This also proves that big names and big banners do not always succeed, it can happen that even these ingredients, which are known to succeed can flop without a novel plot and good acting, only big names can't do the trick, the correct dose of all ingredients goes to make a hit movie.
The final product is what really matters, a movie with ordinary cast but with good acting and a novel idea may succeed, even though the movie Saawariya is not a big hit, it's worth watching once, because there are some fresh faces and this is a refreshing change from watching movies with known faces, they are pretty young too and hence the plot suits them, but the only problem is that it's the usual gisa-pita love story of a young boy and girl, basically the main theme is an age-old concept and the people are bored of watching this theme in different forms time and again.
The acting too is not world-class, otherwise all in all the movie is okay and can be viewed once, it's only that, it's not tempting to watch it again and again, the masala for this is missing in the movie.
