The world SLB has tried to potray in so absurd that it leaves stunned, frustrated, irritated, shocked. 80% population being of whores, and the rest 20% being muslims wearing topis and salwar kameezes doing "adaab, adaab!"
WAT ThE HELL!
No that Saawariya is a bad film.
Its Not!
Its actually a SLB film!
And thats the saddening part!
The story is lethargic. Terribly Lethargic. The sequence of events is not convincing as it should be.
Dialogues work occasionally, fall flat at many places!
What works here are a few scenes like Ranbir and Soonam's first exchange of words when Soonam speaks to him for the first time - Its an excellent scene. Some others involving Rani Mukherjee are great!
But things go from bad to worse when every moment in a film Strives to be a classic.
Thats the problem with Saawariya along with the fact that the Chemistry between the lead pair doesnot work.
Perhaps a quick DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Salaam Namaste or even Jab We Met watch would make clear what chemistry between romantic lead pairs should be like.

The person who tries and Almost saves the film from sinking is, ladies nd gentlemen, Mr.Ranbir Kapoor.
What a Find!
His timing, his expressions, his dialogue delivery, all Spot On! He goes OTT at times, but thats the exact requirement here! Brilliant!
Soonam Kapoor acts dumb in the start but signs of her gradually coming into ease with the camera are visible as the film progresses. She does well at places. And can do better!
Rani Mukherjee is the life of every moment she is in. A Fantasitic Performance armed with Amazing Lines.
Salman Khan dissapoints big time!
So, Sanjay Leela Bhansali - Common! You have made Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Black, Devdas, Khamoshi - All Brilliant Films.
Your latest shows signs of immense cinematic exhaustion and overconfidence!
Watch it if you can tolerate all the frames, dialogues, angles, scenes and songs of the film Screaming out loud that "They-want-to-be-"Classic!"
3/5(1 extra just for Rani and Ranbir)
