Superstars are BORN!.. Review on Saawariya

Initial reaction before Saawariya- When I first heard about Saawariya I have to admit I didn't know alot and was shocked that SLB was going to be working with newcomers rather than stars. It was only till I saw the FIRST promo that it blew me away and I realised that Sonam and Ranbir were made to do this film.. as it went on with the promos and music I started to get more and more excited .. I can safely say the musiic will live on.. I still listen to it all the time.. even now.. Kudos to Monty. I started to become obsessed with Sona and Bir, I have never felt like that before over anyone except Kajol or Saif. HA.. this says alot. :D

Plot

Well, everyone knows the plot and that it is based on the novel "White nights".. I have never read that book so didn't know what to expect. So I watched Saawariya completely with a fresh mind.

Performances

Ranbir Kapoor- When I first watched the first half of the film yesterday, I said he didn't impress me in the beginning..BUT after watching it again.. I can safely say the film "belonged" to Ranbir totally.  He made you laugh, he made you cry.. He made you dream..that was his character and Ranbir gave full justice to his role. I really wanted to give him a "hug".

Sonam Kapoor- First of all, I want to kill all those critics that said she couldn't act!..

Sonam also gave full justice to her role, her silence.. her beauty, her laugh, her longing for her love... this all Sonam manifested through her character. Now, I have 'never' gawped at at actress throughout any film, BUT I am telling the truth when I say I was staring at her. :o Now I know why people compared her to Waheeda rehman.. MASHALLAH! :flower:

Chemistry**- Their chemistry is soooo awesome.. from their first encounter together they made me go.. 'awwwwww'.. :sloppy: Completely flawless and that in their first film! :o

]Ending-

The ending did leave me abit quiet for abit. I didn't know what to feel. Whether happy for Sonam [sakina] or sad for Ranbir [Ranbir Raj].. But I knew all in all it fitted perfectly. Ranbir Raj came into her life like an "Angel" he was, and gave her the moments of happiness from him .. although now he will be living his lonely life. :(.. you still see him with sweet smile in his face and his whistle echoing. This is why its sooo beautiful. I had a tear in my eye.

Zohra Sehgal**- Awwwww, Lillipop! :sloppy:.. she was soooo cute!!.. Gave full justice and really made you smile.

Rani Mukherji- What can I say?.. I have never been a big fan of hers.. But boy.. she was awesome.. from her first presence.. she gave full justice to 'Gulabji'. I loved her accent.. hehe.. and I also loved her song Chabeela.  She also looked stunning!! Great going Rani once again!! :D

Salman khan**- Yeah, his role is too short. But from what he had, he was great as 'Imaan'.

His expressons and his scenes with Sonam were sooo great.

Songs pictured-

I was sad that songs were cut. :( I wanted to see Sawar gayi.  Some of the songs seemed short.

All the songs pictured were perfect. Especially [Yoon Shabmani- The best pictured.. Sonam danced beautifully. Thode badmash andJab se tere naina  were also nicely shot. But overall all of them are perfect!! :D

Sanjay leela bhansali should be proud of himself. After his amazing films such as Khamoshi, HDDCS, Devdas and BLACK.. he now adds Saawariya to his collections. Amazing editing... Great cinematography from Ravi chandran... his mosty beautiful work after Black.

I am very satisfied.. It exceeded my expectations. :D.. I will be watching it again. I hope to see more of Sonam and Ranbir.. Superstars are BORN. They deserve awards.. and Inshallah they will get it.
