Ranbir Rocks. Review on Saawariya

Already 82 reviews on Saawariya. When I analyze which SLB movie did I like the most, surprisingly I came up with the answer its Khamoshi the musical. Yes I had enjoyed devdas to some extent. I was depressed after watching Black. Hum Dil de chuke sanam was ok but I had not liked ending. After watching Saawariya I was out with a feeling oh so this is the hyped movie but so what Ranbir rocks.

Before I went for Saawariya, I was aware that this movie is different. Though I don't read reviews before I watch the movie as it makes me biased. I prefer reading reviews after I have seen it myself. So I was aware that I have to go with open mindset and believe me I had gone with open mindset and I enjoyed. Yes this movie has some good moments too. First of all its set in night hence the color of the movie is green and blue I read it that its interpretation of sadness associated with all the characters of the movie.

Now coming to story itself, its based on Russian author's short story about four nights. We are introduced to Gulabji(Rani) in a castle -harry potter like town who first met Saawariya Ranbir raj(Ranbir Raj kapoor). Ranbir is musician n singer in night club RK. Rani helps him get a room with old cute lady(Zohra Sehgal). Then he meets his love Sakina(Sonam Kapoor) who is looking out for her lover Imaan(Salmaan Khan) at night.  Imaan was her tenant one year back and had promised her, he will be back after one year. So she is unhappy. 1st night they meet. 2nd night she tells her story and gives a letter to Ranbir to give it to imaan who is out there somewhere. Which out of jealousy Ranbir destroys. So on 3rd night when she does not get any news from Imaam, starts to think about Ranbir as friend or may be more than that. On the final 4th night when Ranbir is trying to show his love n hope that she also might start loving him, Imaam returns and Sakina goes to him.

Now its some ending I would have liked in HDDCS. Over here also it suited according to movie and according original story, public was not able to comprehend that the main leads don't meet in the end. Also Salmaan's role is too small. I mean Imaam's character is not at all developed. But I felt the end suited somehow as she had never lead Ranbir to believe that she loved Ranbir, Ranbir had hoped.

Also what I came to know after wards was that in original Russian story, this story is told by the hero himself that is there is no Gulabji. But SLB wanted rani mukharji in the movie hence this character was created.

Also in the original story there is a fifth morning where heroin Sakina sends a letter to hero telling how she loved Immam etc. which is not there in the movie.

About acting:

Ranbir rocks, he has so many emotions portrayed on him all love, hope, jealousy, despair everything. I mean its a best debut for an actor.

I had hopes for Sonam kapoor but she is just okay. Yes in some interviews she has told that some of her best scenes are edited out.

Rani is her usual though over the top sometime.

Salmaan is someone whom crowd loves. Believe me maximum claps were heard when Salmaan was there in the movie which he was for 5 minutes. He has nothing much to do.

Zohra Sehgal was good to watch.

Music: Some of the songs are excellent but there are lots of songs which is actually boring atleast for me. I loved Saawariya. Masaallah.

Some negative points:

1) There should have been some depth in salmaan's role.

2) Rani's character was not needed in the movie.

3) Too too many songs.

Some good points about movie.

1) Its like a poetry flowing . lots of emotions on display

2) Its like watching a drama. a beautiful drama

3) The sets are really too too good.

4) They have tried to emote RK banner scene from barasat movie of raj kapoor where nargis runs in the hand of raj kapoor who has a guitar in the hand and that formed RK logo.

5) The set has Venice kind of look with river flowing on the road and a bridge there. its very beautiful.

6) watch ranbir's expression when sonam thinks that her name sakina is written by her old lover where as in fact it was written by ranbir.

7) Change of mood is depicted by change of colours as well as rains.

But most of all its because of a new heartthorb for bollywood Ranbir. Ranbir Rocks

I forgot to mention Ranbir nude except for a towel. Its good to see

girls getting chance to see hero dancing like that. I loved it.
