Good Movie. Review on Saathiya

Saathiya though was not considered as a top hit by we Mauritian people, many of us had appreciated the film. The newcoming actor Vivek Oberoi or son of Suresh Oberoi has performed very well in the film. His actions were so natural. There were no point to criticize his roles in the movie. Rani as usual has performed very well. She was so simple in her clothing, so natural. The story starts with the true love that Adi (Vivek) show for her lover Suhani (Rani). Suhani was not interested in love and so on as her goal in the film was to study and become a doctor. Adi kept running after her when finally Suhani discovered the love Adi had for her. They then get married to each other secretly, in collaboration with Dina (Suhani’s elder sister) and some friends as their parents were totally against their marriage as Suhani was from a middle class family while Adi’s father is a rich lawyer. All was running smoothly though Adi and Suhani did not spend their honey moon together. But finally, a proposal came for Dina where the bride’s father decided to ask for the hand of their younger son for Suhani. Only then Suhani has got to reveal her secret marriage. Both Rani and Vivek parents were frustrated and remove the two out of their house. Rani and Vivek lived together happily when eventually distance between the couple increases with small fights which keep growing. One day Suhani met her sister with her fiancé who wish to thanks Adi for bringing them together back again. Then only Suhani realizes how Adi loves her. She runs to her house when suddenly she met a deep accident and go in coma. Adi keeps searching for her wife who met accident with Shah Rukh’s wife Tabu who was driving without license. Shah Rukh takes all the charges on him and declares his wife innocent. Finally Adi learnt that Suhani was in hospital…. And their love story restarts when Suhani comes out of coma.

Well, I can say that Saathiya was not a film to which one can get glued. It was a film of reality that shows what can really happen between a couple, the types of problems that may arise between them. Suhani has left everything behind for Adi when finally she realizes that she was wrong in doing so. Day and day, she points out everything Adi had done to make her happy before their wedding, but after wedding Adi was not showing much importance to her. The fact is that neither Adi not Suhani was wrong. It was the situation which was wrong: work tensions (Rani as doctor getting frustrated and Adi’s software company not making any profit). Adi met Suhani’s sister and embraced her in his arms. While on the other sideway road, Suhani was standing and had seen Adi taking a girl in his arms, without seeing the face of the girl. The film shows also some lack of trust that both have on each other. That’s all I can say about the film. But it’s a good movie!
