Saathiya depicts simplicity with STYLE!. Review on Saathiya

Finally I got to see SAATHIYA,the film I was wanting to see from so long.....coz In BOLLYWOOD good films have become a rarity now-a-days.I had completely lost hope in BOLLYWOOD after seeing all those rubbish films coming out(including DEVDAS)but really it is realistic films like SAATHIYA which restore your faith in BOLLYWOOD.It makes you believe that still,there are people who want to make something sensible,simple and down-to-earth.......the kind of films which every normal viewer can identify with.SAATHIYA is like a breath of fresh air,where our main characters SUHANI and ADI are like you and me,they do not live in huge mansions,don't travel in luxury cars,do not only wear designer clothes and do not unnecessarely break into a song-dance in the Swiss Alps,in the skimpiest of clothes.There is absolutely no gloss or show in the film......and that is why it touches the viewers heart.The beauty of the film lies in its simplicity.....and SHAAD ALI needs to be applauded for that.Also the film is a love story with a difference where are madly in love couple realise,that life is not always a bed of roses after marriage.

I am not going into the story coz by now everyone is aware of it.

WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE FILM:

STAR-CAST:The film had a fresh star-cast and all the actors suited their roles to the t.I simply loved the RANI-VIVEK pair......they simply rocked together.And it is to their credit that they made the film look so real with their convincing and heart-wrenching performance.

VIVEK OBERAI:This Oberai guy is just too good.....he is too cute,adorable and above all he has talent to match.As ADI,he shined in the film.......he did practically everything in the film,comedy,romance,emotions.....and handeled everything brilliantly.I think he is a great actor.....and one guy to look forward to.

RANI MUKHERJEE:Rani too acted brilliantly in the film and looked very pretty throughout.She shared outstanding chemistry with VIVEK......they almost looked like a real couple in the film.Her acting when her father dies,deserve a special mention.

I also liked SHANDYA MRIDUL who played Rani's siter.....she acted well and looked pretty.

MUSIC\SONG PICTURISATION:Music is splendid but then what else do u expect from RAHMAN?Though some of the songs in the film looked forced.My fav song in the film in terms of music and picturisation is O HUMDUM(Vivek looked hot on the bike),MANGALYAM(super picturisation)and AYE UDI UDI(Rani and Vivek did stir up some heat in this song).Great score by RAHMAN.

DIALOUGES:were rreally good by GULZAR.They were very simple and natural, like how two people will normally talk.Some of the dialouges towards the end of the film where VIVEK talks to Rani in he hospital were beautiful and will bring a tear to your eye.My fav dialouge from the film was when Adi says ILU to Rani in the train and she asks him''Tum mere liye kya kar sakte ho,kya is train se kud sakte ho''and he proptly reply's''Ha kyon nahi,jaise hi train rukegi main kud jaonga''.Very cute.

I also loved the way Shaad Ali has treated the first half of the film....the love story between Rani and Vivek was so sweet.....with Vivek chasing her in the local trains and again the chemistry between the two was awesome.Also after they both get married,the fight scenes were handeled very well by the director.....nothing melo-dramatic about it.What I particularly liked in the film was that it moved on a single track.....there were no sub-plots.....that is why the interest was maintained throughout.

There was nothing I didn't like about the film except the SHAMITA SHETTY song which was not needed at all.... also she looked so bad in the song.I also thought that TABU and SHARUKH WERE NOT NEEDED IN THE FILM.....their roles could have been done by anyone,but the good thing is that Sharukh came only towards the end so we did not have to go through the torture of watching him act....lol.

So guys all those who like and appreciate good and sensible cinema......go out and watch SAATHIYA,it is a very well made film.....and I am sure everyone will enjoy it.BTW VIVEK OBERAI RULEZS BIG TIME!

A word for KARAN the idiot JOHAR,please have a look at Saathiya and try to make more realistic films coz normal and middle-class people also exist in this world.
