Originality:

A.R Rahman Back with a bang...after Airtel ,the rahman magic rises again with the hindi version of 'Aliapayuthey' withn saathiya and frankly nobody can get off with it better than Rahman ,whether up north or down south his music has an universal feel which is remarkable.being a tamilain myself I had a strong Bias towards the Tamil verion thanx to the very moving and lovable lyrics by Vairamuthu ,I feel Saathiya only lacks slightly in the lyrics Dept as far as comparisions go.

My fav easily in this album would be the title track'saathiya' with Sonu Nigam doing the honours, well in this case after a lot of trials and tribulations I came to the conclusion that it was the spacing of the words which let Sonu down ..I mean the lyrics I feel dont fit into

the tune as well as in the tamli one.The music if u r a keen listener is a lot well mastered in hindi with the extra beat which adds flavor.but sadly though in my earlier rev after throwing a brickbat to HariHaran I think this time round a huge boquet for him for the Tamil version.

then of course we have the very lovable Adnan sami singing 'Udi Udi' though a very lovable song I feel sadly Adnan is not able to do justice to the song his voice suits the deep, intense numbers hence fails the creamy, frothy song in this case.

The 'chori chori' with Asha bhonsle and the 'chupke se' are very very hummable tunes again.

But I think the song which Takes the cake is the short ,cute ' 'Mangalyam'.Well let me enlighten you a little on this song well in fact it is the Sloka which is recited during south Indian weddings when the Groom ties the Thali around the Bride's neck.Trust Rahman to mix it with beats and techno groove but the end result is mindblowing the song which in lyrics symbolises Tradition and the purity of marriage in its beats symbolises youth and sophistication and how a healthy mix of both is very enjoyable .

'Chalka Chalka' is again a very very cute song with one of the freshest videos I have seen in quite sum time...Vivek and Rani look like the cute young couple they potroy to perfection and the entire set is so well designed and colourful.

so In case you are a Rahman freak or you r not who cares, grab the music of Saathiya as soon as you canb get to the music store .dont even bother reading my rev jus go n get it.
